In summary, if distillation is effective and SOTA models can be "cloned" easily, we will see a market crash if companies continue to develop large models, as they won't be able to achieve ROI.
So the solution seems to be to leverage the application layer and build a moat there, but then what’s the incentive to develop new models? Another strategy is what we are seeing: banning Chinese models and creating a set of rules to avoid distillation.
So, I’m going to be clear: if distillation worries Anthropic and OpenAI and is described as equivalent to copyright, then both companies have zero, literally zero moat. I would say these valuations are pretty hard, if not impossible, to maintain if there isn't a moat.
There is an overlap in model capacity where Luna High-Max can be used to solve simpler problems more cost-effectively, but the next step up in cost efficiency and complexity begins with Sol Medium.
It's either Luna high-max or Sol >=medium, there are no other models 😉
@thsottiaux Give us the freedom to manage the tokens as we want. Forced limits are only useful for you to control the amount of requests, but not for the users.

@weswinder Completely. I don't know why they don't leverage the Claude drama regarding rate limits and clawdbot to gain the users who left. Maybe they don't have the infrastructure capacity, but what a mess.

@Shpigford @claudeai This happens to me often with medium or complex problems. The model eventually doesn't know what to do, tries to revert the latest changes and just starts executing nonsense.
