This is the normal evolution of human attraction over a lifespan. Most men do not spend their entire lives looking at women through the adolescent lens of “hot, want sex, must act.” Physical beauty may initiate attention, no one argues against that, but mature attraction becomes increasingly selective, contextual, and integrated with compatibility and trust. The human brain evolved far beyond a simple stimulus response mating system. Men are capable of discernment, pair bonding, devotion, and long term preference formation. A woman’s appearance does not exist in isolation from her character, intelligence, temperament, behavior, or the meaning she holds in his life. In an emotionally developed man, desire becomes organized around the whole person rather than endlessly triggered by every attractive female body in his visual field. A man who remains permanently governed by novelty and immediate visual appetite is not displaying some profound truth about male nature. He is displaying weak inhibition, poor psychological development, or a deliberate refusal to evolve beyond its most primitive layer. I’d seriously caution anyone against listening to men who claim men continue behaving like lustful bots after 25ish. Most psychologically healthy men mature out of chimp mating behaviors because engaging that way requires them to keep choosing the chaos and immaturity, long after they have enough life experience to know better.

Massive wildfires burn in Ontario Canada just outside Toronto, giving the city the worst air quality in the world. The fires have been caused by 37c temperatures and high winds.

One of my fellow Michiganders posts about how bad the air quality is because of Canadian 🇨🇦 #wildfires, followed by something along the lines of “we should go up there and handle it.” Yeah sure buddy. You head on up there 😂 Every wildfire season, a certain kind of American catches a whiff of Canadian smoke over the rust belt and instantly credentials himself as a bonafide expert in managing a few million square miles of boreal wilderness he couldn’t find on a map. “Why can’t #Canada just put the fires out?” My brother in continental geography. We can’t put our own fires out… The US has thrown decades of eye-watering budgets at wildfire. We still lost Paradise in a morning and Lahaina in an afternoon. But by all means, keep posting to social media about those dastardly #Canadians. Canada is the second-largest country on earth, close to half of it forest, much of it with no roads and no way in. These fires move 20 to 30 kilometers a day. You can watch every acre burn from orbit in real time and still not lay a hose on it. In the future, maybe support climate science, conservation, and forestry if you want to breathe better.

(Its extremely necessary that you choose to stick around) This is why seeking advice from people who have only inhabited conventional relationships often becomes useless. They may be sincere, but they are usually interpreting your bond through a framework that does not look at the greys of human emotions. They do not understand the nuance of two intense people trying to love, build, transform, confront themselves, and survive the magnitude of what they awaken in each other.

I have also read this manifesto, and it is actually mindbendingly stupid, as most manifestos written by people who intend to kill people are. Yes, his entire contention is that there is an evil system afoot that is making women not want to have sex with men they don't want to have sex with. He has indeed spent a lot of time thinking about it. Too much time.
