So true, not just artist and gamer, but “coder” (as opposed to engineer) was a job title that was never meant to be held by so many people. The fact that many of these people are getting displaced is both sad and inevitable.
Ultimately we have to come to terms with a reckoning that we created temporary stopgap jobs and societal roles for people to placate them if adulthood and economic sustainability took a little longer. But 80% of the jobs for young people weren’t going to last.
