@JoeLiuzzi88 He has 2 of pre-arbitration & 3 arbitration yrs remaining. This contract buys out 2 FA seasons as well. Figure the pre-arb years max out at $2M, those 5 seasons carry about a $20M AAV. Skubal on Arb3 is at $30M this year. This is a fair deal if he a legit starter.

@RonaldChiefs @PatrickKaplan13 @hndrxx_34 He will not hit 500 HRs. 400 is risky as he will have to hit like 100 after the age of 34 with a looming lockout. I think he will hit 5 more in 2026 to finish with 300, but those next 100 will be tough. 400 stolen bases are pretty likely as long as he stays healthy.

The 2027 lockout is an issue for him. He will be 34 later this year. He might need to play until 40 to get 400/400.

@Mario82288 @909One @nothingsoffpod Not completely true but that is the general rule at most centers. For example University of Wisconsin has transplanted at less than 3 months sober. Larger centers like VCU Health in Richmond transplant under 6 months occasionally. It’s not a hard rule.

Once he hits 5 more homers , which may happen this season, he will be the 9th baseball player in MLB history to join the 300/300 club. It’s still possible that he gets to 400/400 and that would unite him with only Barry Bonds
