Thanks Sean, here are some insta-thoughts: Consistent exposure to listening and talking is where language learning happens. And the reverse is true, being stuck playing whack-a-mole on Duolingo/Anki, forming a baseline, but never really learning. All that raw data needs gluing together, and that's voice. And it's true that voice models are not all created equal. Many AI tools cost cut. Then there's frontier models like 11labs (that Björn uses), that I feel have more than crossed the line of usefulness. There's also the idea that learning languages is often trapped by perfectionism (Hi 👋). It's much about listening and talking [badly] over and over until your own voice emerges. And that voice will always have bad habits. That's the journey. You get to iron out those wrinkles. But you'll be talking. And you'll be understood. And that's what we all want, right?
