@mark_collins09@lessin I think it’s a bit worse than that.
People outside of tech don’t trust ANY tech companies.
The whole vc/tech culture has just not done a good job of making itself palatable to normal people
The AI companies are just the latest and worst case
@rossiadam I agree. nuclear energy makes sense. We should do more not less.
People need to understand that smart growth and building things is how we get almost we need as country and as a civilization.
But I don't think calling people names helps much
@seejayhess I am assuming this is built in Browser that Cursor has.
If so, yes it is awesome.
And with Cloud agents, and the screen recorder it is super awesom
This was very interesting.
One of the his points is that eventually the models are going to have to learn on the job.
But if that is so, the incentives are going to get wildly out of wack.
Right now the models can't learn much from my interaction with them.
But if they can, then then the only way it makes sense to me to continue is if I own the "Learning".
So let's hope we get really good local inference that can be trained on the job.
What does the next training paradigm look like?
0:00:00 – The big research bet the labs are making
0:02:12 – Grindability is just as important as verifiability
0:06:10 – Will RLVR alone generalize?
0:08:41 – Getting the learning back to the weights
0:15:22 – Dreaming
0:17:23 –
Is it at least possible the most people actually want something in between?
I think We will need some breaking up of powerful corporations and banks and some changes to taxation, and some cleanup of government waste and some cuts in spending.
We don’t need to do “all” of any of these things. Just to do “some” of each of them
The third way is the middle way.
@kenwheeler When I was there I couldn’t help wondering how many tourists a year fall off and go over the fall.
There was no fence or even a sign like “stay back”. Nothing. The trail just lead right up to the edge.
@kenwheeler The original Geyser is cool. It’s the Geyser that all other Geysers like Old Faithful in Yellowstone were named after.
Blue lagoon is usually over run, but still pretty cool. Even better if you can get a room the nearby Silica Hotel. It has its own lagoon. And it is awesome
@AdamRackis pretty good.
My goal is half that. working to get to 10. I can do 7 right now. I am 59 and did mess up my shoulder last year. Couldn't even dead hang for a few months.
I used to be able to do 25 kipping pull ups in my 40s. But those feel harder on my shoulder right now.
