With an extremely heavy heart, I pass along that Donato "Danny V" Ventura passed away last night after a 7 month battle with cancer. He was a great journalist (best in Boston School Sports history), a fantastic guy, the best husband and a great friend to so many of us. So sad🙏

I think bill got the math wrong. GA is eligible for 3 year or 4 year extension that’s pretty ironclad. 3 year extension is more lucrative because GA would be opting in. So it be 5/334 ish total territory when you include this year and PO . While 4/275 is more about waiving PO

Wow. Per: @BillSimmons Giannis was about to sign off on the Celtics trade, but he wanted a 3 year extension at 35% of the cap but Boston was set on 2 years at 30%. Brad Stevens would budge on the extension and that’s when he approved the trade to Miami. Unreal.

Once they didn’t get giannis. It closed the door on trying to win a ring next season. You have don’t have to like the trade itself. I was willing to tolerate “more parts” +picks than singular big contract + picks. But it came down to Brad didn’t want to be the Nuggets of the East
