I have never looked into these mysteries, but they sound absolutely fascinating! I would love to see an ancient cavern with all of those artifacts. So enticing. As far as why would there be large areas that are off-limits all I can say is that whatever the official explanation is will not be the actual reason 😉

This kind of “art” carries the same ugly vibe as those old cartoons that portrayed Indians and Black people as stupid, inferior, or objects of ridicule. To many, Bigfoot may still be nothing more than a silly myth or cartoon character. But it’s well past time to move beyond that lazy ignorance. For those of us who know we’re dealing with another tribe of truly sentient beings — deserving of respect and protection, not casual mockery — this depiction is deeply offensive. It trivializes the subject in exactly the same way past generations trivialized real peoples and cultures. “Boys will be boys” doesn’t excuse it. I used to laugh at that kind of thing when I was a kid too. Then I grew up. Some people apparently never did. The better question is how we should then live: with mutual respect for all, in the Creator’s love and light. Not in some naive “Kumbaya” fantasy, nor in a dog-eat-dog world, but with clear-eyed strength and resolve — where true respect also means healthy boundaries, all while holding to ultimate Hope. #BigfootRespect

Roddy, quick correction — I misspoke above. I said “I’m not against censoring historical images,” but I meant the opposite: I am not for censoring them. I’m a strong supporter of free speech and have been genuinely horrified by the censorship abuses we’ve seen online and in society these past few years. My real point was about common decency and respect — especially toward sentient beings like Bigfoot — not about banning or editing historical images or art. (For the record, my view comes from personal experience and my Christian faith. I loathe the media’s so-called “morality” and don’t base my ethics on it at all.) As always, appreciate you sharing your take.

Where do you draw the line? I'm sure we're familiar with the old cartoons we grew up with that showed dehumanizing caricatures of certain people groups. I'm not against censoring historical images, but what if it were created today just like this image? Or what if this was Christ on that spit, or your grandmother? I guess I'm asking whether there's such a thing as common decency?
