Club Statement The Club is aware of racist remarks made on social media about one of our players. We are appalled by the comments and condemn them in the strongest possible terms. No individual should be subjected to racist abuse, whether online, in person or in any other setting. Racism must be called out, condemned and eradicated. We will report such matters through the appropriate channels and will work with the relevant authorities, the Rugby Football League and social media platforms to ensure they are investigated and dealt with properly. Wigan Warriors will continue to stand against racism and all forms of discrimination. We remain committed to using our voice and platforms to promote inclusion, respect and equality, and to ensure our Club and our sport are places where everyone feels they belong.

Every school closure this week is a direct consequence of successive governments failing to invest in the UK's school estate. A massive portion of our school buildings consists of either uninsulated Victorian structures or poorly insulated 1960s and 1970s system-built blocks. From Michael Gove’s cancellation of the Building Schools for the Future program to the shameful reality that, at current investment rates, it would take 300 years to rebuild the school estate, the system has been systematically neglected. When these failing buildings force schools to shut down, the children suffer most, particularly those in urban areas. For a child living in a high-rise tower block with no private garden or safe green space, the school environment is a vital lifeline. It isn't just a place of learning; it is often their only consistent access to open air, physical exercise, and a safe outdoor environment.

Live music isn’t dead. Normal people just can’t afford it anymore. Harry Styles is doing 12 nights at Wembley. Record-breaking. Over a million people. Fair play. But the price of getting through the door is mad. Tickets from £44 up to £466. Then trains. Or fuel. Food. Maybe a hotel. Maybe time off work. I’d love to take my daughter. It’s not really my thing, but she’d love it and that should be enough. Loads of parents feel exactly the same. The reality for many is simple. Unless it goes on a credit card. Or worse. It’s not happening. And I’m not doing that for a night out, no matter how special it would be. So people sit it out. Not because they don’t care. Because life already costs enough. Tours hitting fewer cities makes it worse. If it’s not local, the costs stack up fast and you’re out before you’ve even started. Live music used to feel reachable for normal families. Now it feels like another experience quietly slipping away. Has it gone too far?
