Talk to your customers. Biggest shift I made this year was committing to 50+ merchant conversations a quarter. At least 30 IRL. Nothing gives me more clarity. You see when their eyes light up over a feature, or when you completely missed. Thanks for the shout @Tina_Donati

Got confirmation today from a Meta rep that Meta is turning on certain A+ creative optimizations and features as part of internal testing for a new product test. I was asked to be put on a block list for this and was told it's not possible. When I asked how we know what ads have ad A+ optimizations turned on they suggested using AI to monitor changes to the account or to manually check the account. Because "we have the ability to turn these off" This is a direct quote from their product manager overseeing this. So Meta is directly changing aspects of ads inside ad account with no changelog etc... and expecting marketers to catch it or use AI to monitor these changes. This was an absolutely insane conversation to me and the fact they're knowingly making these changes and adjustments that impact performance with no way to opt-out or be notified that it's happening is wild to me.

Remember that big overspend issue on 3/16? Welp, I've heard that we won't be getting refunds for that despite it being a confirmed outage. If you see a Meta employee this week (everyone going to the Meta summit!), please say how completely unacceptable (and borderline illegal) this is. @jasonyimco @MrYoniLevy @J_Sterl @KristinKupke what do you have to say?

META 'RELATED MEDIA' BUG: Here's an ad where 96% of spend went to ads OTHER THAN the one I thought it was. This completely throws off learnings and this renders all external reporting platforms virtually useless.

Meta media buyers, LOOK OUT 👀 If you go to EDIT an ad, even just to look at an ad's setting without changing anything, the system automatically adds Related Media. It won't publish automatically, buuuut, it will queue to publish the next time you publish other changes. Super

The health indicator no one talks about = the strong desire to work and build things. Whether for the intrinsic love of the work, the rewards, or both. Yes we need sleep and (some need) recreation but drive is at least as important as any other metric.
