Usually only have OB, bunkers and water hazards on #1 hole. Today there was one extra hazard. Managed a par anyway.

@caddietales Playing the 8th at Ballybunion, my cat recommended a club. I told him there's no way I can reach the green with that club. He said trust me. I did and ended up on the green with a birdie putt. 😀

Shafts are as important as the clubs. First fitting was at a major golf retailer, main question the guy kept asking me was, "Which one *feels* best to you?" I ended up with Mizuno, but heavy steel shafts (I was a 66 y.o. beginner). He never offered lighter shafts to try, only clubheads. Second time was with an experienced Mizuno fitter who brought 50+ shafts. With the new shafts I gained 8-10 yds/club.

@engineeringolf On my home course, 13 holes have OB on one side and water on the other side of the fairway. The other 5 holes only have one or the other. Hit 'em straight!

@_consistentgolf Do you have to post a picture of your swing on your scorecard before you post to GHIN? Didn't think so. Did Brian Campbell's ball ricocheting off a tree back into the fairway during the 2025 Mexico Open playoff to beat Potgeiter count? Yes. Only the score matters.

@SocietyGolfHist ProV1x's are most prone to scuffs and cuts, especially on shots or of the bunker. Much of our sand has bits of shell (seaside course) and often a new ball won't last 9 holes. (Yes, I know, stay out of the bunkers 😁)

@SocietyGolfHist Great minds think alike! I ordered my Stack system last week and it should be delivered tomorrow. I didn't golf when I was younger so every day is a PB! :-)

@SocietyGolfHist I play in the rain here on the SC Coast unless Jim Cantore is doing a live broadcast nearby.

@BuzzPatterson I grew up on CAFB but by 1980 I had graduated from law school and joined a soon to be ground-breaking SC PI firm. The 80's were exciting, fun, and full of opportunity for those smart and willing to work hard. The only thing scary to me was Disco - that sucked.

@engineeringolf This is great! Really helpful! I've been trying out different Titleist balls and now I can see other brands that compare. Good stuff!

@SocietyGolfHist @SHistorians @X Sorry about the hacking. Hope the visit to Mrs. Forman's goes well. I'm still interested. Need to schedule my own visit in October.
