@histoftech A League of Their Own is truly fantastic, but deals with homophobia and racism in 1940s America, so it's not an entirely easy ride. I would say it winds up being really uplifting in the end though

@VyriaDurav The point of EVERYTHING should be to just be there for your friend, not to push them in some direction that you think they need to go. 'Cracking eggs' puts all of the emphasis in the wrong place, centering some end result that might not even be right for them

@VyriaDurav It squishes them down to match a stereotype of your own journey, not seeing them as whole people to meet wherever they may be at. (Again, for some people maybe they're white nerdy transfems and 'egg' _is_ where they're at and is helpful, but god it's so incredibly not everyone)

@VyriaDurav I don't think 'egg' is wholly neutral. The term ties in to a certain set of ideas and experiences, mostly connected to white transfems with nerdy interests. To someone this fits, it's validating and maybe helpful; to someone that it doesn't it's intrusive and weird

@VyriaDurav I feel 'egg' talk trivializes and diminishes the process of figuring things out gender (and encourages people to overstep), outweighing any benefit of making things more lighthearted and accessible in a helpful way.
