Business case for not being a jerk: "People quit bosses, not jobs." Toxic supervisors & a bad work climate have a big impact on turnover. Salary only had a small-to-moderate effect, with non-monetary compensation, like training, having a bigger role for keeping employees around.

Just saw a job ad for HR pro - 15 years experience & degree needed - $14-18/hour. Honestly, I want to tell anyone applying to just take a job at target - you’ll likely make more when you factor in the employee discount and won’t have to deal w/a company that thinks $14 is ok.
