@andreintg Of course humans have to read PRs, that is the problem. There is no alternative to that. AI as a reviewer is clueless, it has no context nor capabilities to understand what is good or bad overall for project and feature wise.

If the goal is to "filter" then they pretty much done it - by restricting it. Here is a question: does Godot have a significant % of AI generated PRs - as a good value? It appears as after manually reviewing it, and interacting with it - they see a negative value, hence their decision.

This is a real world long term open source project, with dedicated maintainers and strong user base. Such a decision would not have happened, if value from AI contributions was on par or better than human authored PRs. So AI and its users is yet to prove it's real world value.

Long term, it still is. I'm yet to see an agentic production that results in a long term successful project. So far we see either project is short term, or it becomes unmanageable and unmaintainable in the longer term. We already saw many vibe coded editors, they disappear as quickly.

@squareys Absolutely. It's much easier to sell pretty visuals running in the UE5. And totally skip the web-essentials, as decision makers don't know any of it. Polaris - is a great example of a well executed Web 3D vanilla configurator.

Pixel streaming is very expensive. For the auto industry selling vehicles, cost per user acquisition is just too high. Alternative: proper Web 3D solution, but that is much harder to pull off and wont be as pretty visually. But it is virtually free per load and no hourly fees!

@hallarazad Pixel streaming? It is only worth it for not publicly facing apps, some internals. Proper Web 3D is worth only if executed right, and has to be managed by the internal team. If there is no such, it has to be trained. Won't work with external agency long term.

Testing AI models on "one-shot project", is totally useless, unless all you are going to use it for, is to one shot copy-paste of existing codebases. It basically tests how well it can retrieve code of "another tetris" from learning data, and "reshape" it.
