t.co/7085eoahy8 Dear friends, Six months ago, I decided to share a few of our consult cases on Twitter in order to promote the consult service and give it an opportunity to grow. The plan was to share one case a week, but as it turned out, discussing interesting cases took on a life of its own, and I never bothered to promote the consult service itself. That, I think, was a good thing, because I'm good at neither selling nor promoting. Today, though, a few hundred posts and almost 1700 followers later, I will, because I now have a reason I did not have when I first started, and that is the ability and desire to share and keep sharing interesting and challenging breast pathology cases with the microcosm of practicing and aspiring pathologists on this platform. If you have found value and have enjoyed what I have posted, please retweet and spread the word. I would be very grateful if you did. So here goes. Five reasons to send breast pathology consults to Washington University's breast consult service led by yours truly. 1. Challenging cases are discussed as a group at consensus conference, so you get to enjoy decades of cumulative experience in breast pathology with outstanding pathologists and educators, least of whom is me. 2. You will get an official report faxed or at least a phone call (if you so desire) within 24 hours of receipt. As a matter of fact, we try to sign our cases out on the day we receive them, i.e. less than 24 hours after you send them. 80% of cases will be finalized within 24 hours of getting to us. 3. Enjoy direct access to myself and other pathologists, if you have questions, concerns, or requests, by phone or email. My personal contact information is on the website and I will always pick up or return calls, even if the case is not mine. Most of the time it will be, though. 4. Billing is standard CPT for consult cases, not more, and the department accepts payment from pathology practices and from insurance companies. 5. Contribute to the treasure trove of fascinating breast pathology cases, watch as they find a greater audience than ever thought possible, and potentially contribute to official publications that would crystallize the information collected from the unique and rare cases you send.
