He spent years advising Trudeau to push heat pumps, now he’s Prime Minister forcing the same failed policy on the rest of us. Here’s the reality check from someone who actually knows energy: Heat pumps are garbage in Canadian winters. They cost a fortune to run, they fail when it drops below minus twenty, and insurance companies won’t even cover homes that rely on them alone. You still need oil, gas or propane as backup. So what exactly are we saving? Meanwhile electricity rates have gone through the roof thanks to the same green energy obsession. In Ontario we went from some of the cheapest power in North America to paying four times more. Heat pumps just make that problem worse. Carney talks like he’s saving the planet while his old firm cashes in on the equipment and the energy play.
